Trusted Dance Shoe Brands We Love

Below is a list of solid, salsa-approved brands we see students wearing (and loving) on the floor. These work for class, practice, and socials depending on the style you choose.

Jose Botta

A great option for men’s dance shoes, including the ability to order custom styles. They also carry boots for women, which can be a fun alternative if you want something a little different.

Ziji Dance

Carries men’s, women’s, and unisex styles. Clean designs, good functionality, and a solid all-around choice.

Yami Shoes

Currently my favorite heels for women. The extra padding under the ball of the foot is a game-changer for longer nights of dancing.
Full transparency: I only recently realized they also carry men’s shoes, so I can’t personally vouch for those yet—but the women’s heels are 🔥.

GFranco Shoes

Available for men and women, with one of the largest selections of men’s styles out there. Great if you want variety without sacrificing quality.

Burju Shoes

Women’s shoes only, but with the widest range of indoor/outdoor soles. These are awesome if you want something you can wear straight from dinner to the dance floor (though please still try not to track in dirt).

Fuego Dance

If you want dance sneakers, these are the go-to.

Practice & Oxford-Style Shoes

Looking for something comfortable for training, drilling, or longer classes? These are great options:

Final Thought

You don’t need the perfect dance shoe on day one—but you do need something that lets you move, turn, and feel grounded. Good shoes won’t replace practice, but they’ll absolutely make practice feel better.

If you ever want help choosing based on your level or dance goals, just ask one of us at NSD. We’ve tested plenty of these on the floor 💛
